Pegram’s Home Makeover
This home was built in 1961. The distance between the ground and the bottom of the joists has increased over the year. Why? There is an increased chance of termite damage the closer the joists are to the ground. This is what happened to this home.
What did we do?
1 – 15’ of the center girder was replaced
2 – All the floor joists and subfloor, in the kitchen, were replaced
3 – All the floor joists and subfloor, in the addition, were replaced
4 – Several walls were reframed because of the termite damage
A – This is the main center girder supporting the kitchen and master bedroom B – This girder will be replaced
A – The house had wood heating when it was built (Has propane gas now) B – The chimney will be removed
A – A new storm door was installed on the rear entry door B – The storm door has a self-storage screen C – A new motion light was installed to the left of the door (Not pictured) D – A door bell was installed
